Overview

Your Vying.io cloud desktop works exactly like a normal Windows computer — you can install apps, update software, add tools, and customize it however you like.

This guide explains:

  • Where to download apps
  • What you can install
  • What requires admin access
  • What we install for you
  • How to avoid breaking Windows
  • How to request help when needed

Everything is straightforward, but there are a few best practices to keep your cloud PC fast and stable.

1. You Have a Full Windows Environment

Your cloud desktop includes:

  • Windows
  • Administrator permissions (if requested)
  • Full internet access
  • Ability to install, update, and remove software
  • Compatibility with most Windows apps

If you can install it on a normal PC, you can install it here.

2. Installing Apps From the Internet

Simply:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge or Chrome
  2. Go to the website of the app you need
  3. Download the installer
  4. Run it normally

Examples:

✔ Office / Microsoft 365

Download from your Microsoft account or from office.com.

✔ PDF Tools

Adobe Reader, Foxit, Nitro, PDFsam, etc.

✔ Browsers

Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera — all supported.

✔ Communication Apps

Zoom, Teams, Slack, WhatsApp Desktop, etc.

✔ Business Tools

ERP clients, SQL tools, custom company software, management dashboards.

3. Installing Drivers & Utilities

Your cloud PC supports:

  • Printer drivers
  • Scanner drivers
  • Token/certificate utilities
  • Manufacturer tools

If the app requires USB connections (drivers for hardware), install it on your cloud desktop.

Most devices pass through RDP automatically.

4. Administrator Rights

By default, you can:

  • Install normal applications
  • Install browsers
  • Install PDF tools
  • Install communication apps
  • Install most business tools

If an installer needs elevated rights (UAC prompt), you will see:

“Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”

We can enable full administrator access if needed — just contact support.

6. Software You Should Avoid (to keep the machine fast)

🚫 Torrent clients

They slow down networking and are blocked by some ISPs.

🚫 System cleaners “Registry cleaners”

CCleaner clones or “system optimizers” can break Windows.

🚫 GPU-heavy apps

Video editing, 3D rendering, or gaming tools — no dedicated GPU.

🚫 Local-only database servers

Unless discussed with support.

8. Updating Your Software

You can update:

Windows Update also runs regularly in the background.

If any update breaks the system, we can roll your machine back using:

  • Snapshots
  • Restore points
  • Backups

So you’re safe.

9. If an Installation Fails

Common reasons:

  • The installer needs full admin access
  • The installer is corrupt
  • The app is incompatible with Windows edition
  • Antivirus inside the app blocks it
  • Missing dependencies (like .NET Framework)
