Overview
On macOS, you connect to your Vying.io cloud desktop in two steps:
- Connect to OpenVPN using the .ovpn file we provide
- Use Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect to your private IP (192.168.x.x)
This gives you a secure, stable, encrypted connection to your cloud PC.
🍏
1. Install OpenVPN Connect for macOS
Download the official client here:
Install it normally:
- Open the .dmg
- Drag the app to Applications
- Open it from Launchpad
Grant any macOS security permissions if asked.
📥
2. Import Your .ovpn Profile
We send you a full .ovpn file that already contains:
- your VPN configuration
- your certificates
- your keys
To import it:
- Open OpenVPN Connect
- Click File → Import Profile
- Select your .ovpn file
- Accept the profile and permissions
- You will see your VPN profile listed in the main screen
🔌
3. Connect to the VPN
- Open OpenVPN Connect
- Click Connect
- Wait until the switch turns green and shows Connected
When VPN is ON:
- You are inside the secure Vying.io network
- Your Mac receives a private route to the 192.168.x.x networks
- Only now can you reach your cloud desktop
If the connection fails, contact support — usually it’s a small configuration issue.

4. Verify VPN Connectivity (Optional)
You can check tunnel connectivity:
- Open Terminal
- Type: ping 192.168.x.x
(Use your desktop’s private IP.)
If you get replies → the tunnel works perfectly.
🖥️
5. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop (Mac App Store)

→ Search “Microsoft Remote Desktop”
→ Click Get
This is the official, high-performance RDP client for macOS.
🧩

Your cloud desktop now appears in your list.
🚀
7. Connect to Your Cloud Desktop

You will see:
- Windows loading
- Your personalized desktop

- Fast responsiveness
You’re now inside your cloud machine.
🖨️
8. Printers, Clipboard, and File Transfer
macOS supports all major RDP redirection features.
✔ Clipboard
Copy/paste text between Mac ↔ cloud desktop.
✔ Printer Redirection
Most Mac printers pass through as long as the driver supports AirPrint or standard printing.
✔ File Sharing
Use the “Folders” option in Remote Desktop:
- Go to the PC’s settings
- Click Folders
- Add a folder or your entire Documents folder
It will appear in Windows under This PC → Redirected Drives and Folders.
✔ Digital Signature Tokens
Most USB tokens work via RDP redirection, but macOS can be picky.
If the token requires a Windows driver, install it inside the cloud desktop.
Everything still passes through the VPN tunnel.
🛠️
9. Troubleshooting (macOS-specific)
❌ RDP says “Can’t connect to the PC”
- Ensure VPN is ON
- Check the private IP
- Quit and reopen Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Try disabling any macOS firewall apps
❌ VPN won’t connect

❌ USB token not passing through

- Make sure token has drivers installed inside the cloud desktop
✔ Summary
